T-shirt print sizes and placement: a guide in inches
A full-front print can be up to 12 inches wide by 14 inches tall; a left-chest logo up to 4 × 4 inches; a hoodie front up to 12 × 10 inches above the pocket; and a hat front about 4.5 × 2.25 inches. One location is included in the price — a second (front and back) adds $3 on a tee and $4 on other garments.

Per piece, on top of the quantity price. Printing has no per-color charge, so size and location are what change the price — not the number of colors.
Where on the shirt it goes
- Full front: centered, starting about three fingers below the collar. A design that sits too low reads as a belly print.
- Left chest: the wearer's left, roughly where a pocket would be. Keep it 3–4 inches wide; wider looks oversized.
- Back: a name list or a large graphic sits just below the collar; a small logo looks best centered between the shoulder blades.
- Youth and ladies' shirts have narrower print areas — your proof scales the design to suit the smallest size in the order.
How big should my file be?
For a sharp print, your image needs about 150 pixels per inch at the printed size: a 12-inch-wide front print needs a file about 1,800 pixels wide, a 4-inch chest logo about 600. Vector files (SVG, PDF, AI, EPS) print sharp at any size. The online designer shows the inches and warns you if a file will print soft. More in the artwork guide.
Picking a size that looks right
- Text-heavy designs: go wide (11–12″) so the smallest words stay readable.
- Round or square logos: 9–10″ on the front looks bolder than 12″, which can feel like a placard.
- Polos and dress shirts: chest logos only.
- Every proof shows the design at its real printed size in inches, so you can change it before anything prints.
