Fraternities and college groupsWhat can a fraternity print on chapter shirts?
Anything the chapter owns: event names and dates, sponsors, intramural team names, chapter-drawn art and member names — 50 Comfort Colors shirts with a left chest and back print are $950. Greek letters, crests and fraternity, sorority or university names are trademarks that need a licensed vendor; Harborside is not one, so we print chapter designs without them.
What we print for chapters
- Event shirts: the event name, date, cause and every sponsor
- Intramural and team shirts: team names and numbers
- Chapter-drawn art and slogans, member lists, class names and years
- Your school's colors (colors alone are not a logo)
What we leave off
- Greek letters and crests, fraternity and sorority names
- University names, logos and mascots
- Alcohol, drug or hazing references — national risk policies ban them on chapter apparel
Greek letters, crests and fraternity, sorority and university names are trademarks of the organizations that own them, and most require a licensed vendor for anything that carries them. Harborside is not a licensed Greek or collegiate vendor, so we print chapter designs without them — event names and dates, philanthropy and sponsor shirts, intramural team names, chapter-drawn art and slogans. Not sure about a design? Send it and we will tell you before you pay.

Questions people ask
Why do Greek letters need a licensed vendor?
Most national organizations register their letters and crests as trademarks and license them to approved vendors; custom chapter orders are covered by those rules.
Can we put our school's colors on a shirt?
Yes. Colors alone are not a logo or a name.
Will you tell me if a design is a problem?
Yes — send it before you pay and we will say.
