At 12 pieces DTF (direct-to-film) is usually cheaper and cleaner because DTF has no screen setup — one shirt costs the same per piece as fifty. Screen printing makes economic sense at 24+ pieces of solid-color art. For full-color art at any quantity, DTF wins.

The two universal rules

1. Embroider when the shirt is customer-facing and lives in the customer's memory. HVAC polos, real-estate polos, hospitality staff — embroidery. Screen print or DTF when the shirt is disposable, event-specific, or worn casually — team practice tees, retail merch, wedding party shirts.

2. Bump to 24+ pieces when it's within reach. The price cliff at 24 is our biggest ($17/pc → $10/pc). If you need 18 shirts, order 24 — the extra 6 shirts cost less per piece than the ones you were already buying, and you get spares.
